Tokyo Tokyo
Edit This
The first surprise (but not the last) is the Tokyo Tokyo River,
a 4000-gallon underground koi pond filled with fish. The thick
glass covering the river is safe to walk on believe it or not. This
full-menued Japanese restaurant has many such delights awaiting you.
The
highlight is the Sushi Bar (NO, koi is NOT on the menu!). The portions
are generous. The quality is exceptional. The range of selections is
enormous. The sushi is high quality but very
seasonal. In season you can get hair crab. There are tatami
rooms, a large sushi bar and a covered patio. The wine list is
adequate but the real highlight is the range of sake selections. You
can buy one of the more expensive ($300) bottles which they will save
for your return visits. One unusual selection is frozen sake. The
dessert selections include green tea, red bean and plum wine ice cream.
They also have a tea menu with all ranges of tea available.
Unfortunately, it takes many visits to enjoy all the possibilities in this outstanding establishment.
You can even attend basic sushi classes on the second Saturday of every month.
