Mykonos Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeCosmopolitan island, famous in the last decades from the international jet set visitors that have spent here their holidays, in the last few years Mykonos has partially lost its exclusive soul and has been frequented mostly by young people who want to enjoy the island great nightlife (which is often compared to Ibiza and Ayia Napa).
Mykonos beaches are magnificent and are concentrated mostly in the southern side of the island. Here you can choose whether to relax yourself and enjoy the great sea, or to stay in the middle of the crowd and start partying in the afternoon. In the first case you'd choose Agrari Beach or Kalafatis Beach, in the second case you'd choose Paradise Beach or Paraga Beach.
Lifestyle is really mediterranean: usually you get lunch in the afternoon (2-4 p.m.) and dinner after midnight. Discoteques get full around 3-4 a.m. and often stay open until 8-10 a.m.
August is, of course, the most expensive month and in this period the island is mostly frequented by young Italians (so if you don't like people yelling and making noise all the time just avoid this month).
