Nightlife and Entertainment in Madrid
Edit ThisNightlife Culture
With so many bars, clubs, pubs and taverns, you could be up all night trying to see them all. There is music played on every street corner by bands, and DJs pumping out the hottest tunes featured on the radio. If you are not into clubs, you're still sure to find something that suits your taste. The city has many coffee shops and elegant restaurants that feature piano players and live bands.
Most club goers and youngsters do not go out on the town until midnight. Many restaurants stay open late because of the late-night rush--tourist and locals alike often enjoy eating past midnight. It is normal here to see people on the streets when 6 am arrives. One place that caters to the more mature minds on the streets, who seek a more calm, yet still entertaining setting, is Pacha, which draws a blend of tourists and older residents in the area.
Popular Nightlife Districts
Some of the most popular nightlife destinations in the city are in the district of Chueca, where the gay community fills the streets to party all night long. For years, it has been compared to the Castro district in San Francisco. The blocks are lined with theatres, museums and clubs that seem to go on for days. In the neighborhoods of Bilbao, Tribunal and Huertas, tourists linger through the streets, experiencing a different taste of Madrid
Clubs for a Younger Crowd
A hot spot in one of the nearby areas is Joy Eslava Disco, famous among young adults who seek high energy and loud dance music. Another hot spot for the young adults is Moma, which features elegant décor and requires a formal dress code to enter. The DJ plays a mix of music for all to enjoy.
When you step onto the streets of Madrid at night, you have a selection of nightclubs to pick from, most of which have house and dance music pumping through their speakers. The price to get inside these places is usually affordable for all. You will not experience a dull moment while visiting the city of Madrid!
