Eating Out

Edit This

Los Angeles restaurants are famous for many things. You can catch just about any Los Angeles restaurant on any given day in any film you may be watching on TV or at the theater. Next, Los Angeles restaurants have a reputation for being just as peculiar and diverse as the millions of denizens residing in this dreamy town. While Los Angeles restaurants realize that it's tough to compete with the world's top rated restaurants in London, New York, and Chicago, that doesn't stop Los Angeles' chefs from continuing to create innovative and downright delicious cuisine. Asian-inspired menus are wildly popular here as well as French, Italian, and Mediterranean inspired fare.

There are so many restaurants in Los Angeles that it would be tough to list them all in the many Los Angeles travel guides. But, what most Los Angeles travel guides do (and right here as well) is list some of the best Los Angeles restaurants as voted by restaurant critics, locals, food & wine publications, and numerous websites dedicated to the real deal on Los Angeles food. Before you dig in, here are some tips about Los Angeles restaurants and dining in Los Angeles.

Most Los Angeles restaurants have valet parking, so prepare to hand over your keys. The good news is, valet parking in L.A. isn’t as expensive as you may think. The typical valet parking fee is $5, plus tip.

If you're looking for late-night dining, forget it. There are a few  burger stands and pizza joints open after 11 p.m., but don't count on anything spectacular here. Most prime dinner spots take reservations until around 9:00 p.m. or 10:00 p.m. with peak dining times between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Most places are closed on Sunday and Monday. It’s always a good idea to make reservations, especially if the restaurant is somewhat popular to popular.

As far as attire goes, the majority of Los Angeles' restaurants are fairly casual (think business casual) unless noted otherwise. Keep in mind that this is L.A., so do your best to look polished and hip if you want to make an impression.
