Caballito de totora is a millennial craft used since the pre-inca times, for the ancient fishermen of the north coast of the Peru.

The investigators estimate that their use dates at least from the year 100 ac, because exist numerous archaeological evidences found in the old cultures, as Salinar, Gallinazo, Mochica and ChimĂș, discovered in works of archaeological rescue.
The elements recovered in excavations demonstrate that this singular caballito de totora, Has stayed and preserved, identical to the one used by the ancient Peruvians.

And in fact, Huanchaco is the only place of America where the caballito de totora is conserved identical in his construction, materials and use in daily fishing tasks, that grants him an exceptional value and historical continuity. 
 
 The fishing in Huanchaco, is identical as it was it in the humanity's beginning at New World.
