Christ The Redeemer - Corcovado

Statute of "Cristo Redentor" at the top of the Corcovado. This statue can be seen from almost every corner in Rio de Janeiro.

Corcovado (the hunchback) is the mountain dominating the Rio skyline. On the top is the statue of Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor). This statue was built to commemorate 100 years of Brazilian independence.
The view of the city from the top of Corcovado is worth a visit!
