Of all cities in the Northeast United States, Buffalo stands out in reference to it's food.
The City of Buffalo is home to the Buffalo Style Chicken Wing, and Roast Beef on Kimmelweck (or Weck for short) to name a couple.
In addition, the region loves the variety of ethnic cuisines, and has a restaurant SOMEWHERE in the city that offers that type of cuisine.
The Chicken Wing reigns supreme, and if you are interested in eating them (if you haven't already), most restuarants carry it on their menus.

Duff's Famous Wings
Edit ThisOne of the most renowned chicken wing restaraunts, it rivals the Anchor Bar for the best wings in Buffalo. This restaraunt gives you a sense of what Western New Yorkers are all about. It isn't a fancy place to eat, but the service is good and the prices are cheap. A great place to spend an evening of dining.

Nestor's Texas Hots
Edit ThisThe Texas Hot style hot dog is another regional delicacy, teaming a Sahlens or Wardynski hot dog with mustard, slivered white onion and Texas Style meat sauce on a steamed hot dog roll.
The Best Texas Red Hot around is Nestor's Texas Red Hots at 102 Webster st. in North Tonawanda Ny. right down the street form the Riviera Theatre. They make their sauce from a secret family recipe and they make it right at the store. You can buy their sauce and its frezeable too. you have got to try them. They only use Sahlens hot dogs.

Leonardi's Pizza
Edit ThisThis is an authentic Italian made Buffalo Grown and made pizza. The peperoni is home made and so is the sauce. As well, they use a combination of cheeses on the pizza for a fantastic taste. La Nova Pizzeria

Jims Steakout
Edit ThisJims Steakout has become a sort of tradition for those that are looking for food after visiting the bars and nightclubs on Friday and Saturday nights.
The signature hoagy, the Loaded Hoagy, has chopped steak, mushrooms, onions, lettuce, tomato, cheese and special sauce on a 12 inch sub roll.
Be forewarned, this item is HUGE, messy, and a gastronomic nightmare for the unprepared.
Other standard fare includes submarine/hoagy/bombers, as well as chicken wings, chicken fingers, salads, tacos, and much more.

For those that are not familiar with the Buffalo Style Chicken Wing, it is the wing of a chicken, deep fried in oil, and tossed with butter and Franks Original hot sauce.'
There are other variations of the wing out there (barbequed, italian, lemon pepper, etc...) but chicken wing purists will have it the original way.
Chicken wings can be ordered mild, medium (a little fire), hot (not for those that don't like hot spicy food) or suicide (made, using tabasco sauce in place of the hot sauce).
