For great treks head North for Snowdonia. This rugged mountain land, with the highest peaks of Wales (the Snowdon) offers great walking tracks and small rustic villages where you can halt and rest.

Betws-y-Coed and Llanberris are verry pretty and a good base to explore the countryside. Form Llanberris you can go to the top of the Snowdon.

Beddgelert is a charming old mining town near the Moel Hebog.

Porthmadog is a harbour town on the Irish Sea. On your way to Snowdonia you will probably stop over here.

Portmeirion is where the 1960's cult TV series "The Prisoner" was filmed. You can now visit all the wonderful buildings and beach there.
