Penrhyn Castle

Penrhyn Castle
This is just east of the city and is 19th century mock Norman in some of its interior work and all the outside. Whereas each individual arch and pillar is a perfect imitation of Norman, the overall effect displays Victorian exhibitionism. Hence it is historical - in a sense.
The kitchen quarters and courtyard exhibitions are great, as are the grounds, in particular the walled and bog gardens.

The Spinnies

Edit This

Neither park nor garden nor zoo but more like them than a palace - the Spinnies consist of two bird hides maintained by the North Wales Wildlife Trust. They are near the sea just east of the Penrhyn Castle estate.
Numerous little egrets can usually be seen and if lucky, you may well spot a kingfisher.
