A suburb of Preston notable for being the location of the headquarters of the International Calvary Fellowship - a hardline Christian fundamentalist group. Lostock Hall was named in 2004 as the preferred site for the pioneering Asylum and Refugee Societal Exchange Programme: A.R.S.E.P.
Construction began in March 2005 of a community centre for east European economic Migrants, where they will be housed prior to finding gainful employment elsewhere. The local government, who backed the process plan to house some 8,000 Poles, Lithuanians, and Latvians as part of a widely backed project to fill a labour shortage in the Northwest of England, making Lostock Hall one of the most cosmopolitan towns in Europe.
