Shopping in YorkEdit This
Best-known are of course the Shambles and Stonegate. The Shambles are a cluster of small winding streets, also better known as the Snickelways, packed with small crafts-shops and other ‘gewgaws’ shops. Stonegate is the famous cobbled street that leads from St Helen’s Square to the Minster. Although the shops have become rather touristy, it remains a nice street (and you’ll have to pass through it anyway, because other wise you won't reach ‘Ye olde Starre Inn’ that is located in the exact middle of the street.)
The Cat Gallery is a specialty shop selling quality cat themed merchandise for cat lovers and their feline friends. The shop is located in Stonegate, one of York's quaintest streets. The Cat Gallery also offers a mail order service via its' website and ships worldwide.
