There are plenty of pubs where you can have a good meal at noon after you’ve been strolling down the Shambles or visited the Minster. Goodramgate, between Monkgate and Church Street, is known for its high concentration of all sorts off restaurants. The Italian and Indian restaurants are also well presented in York and their dishes serve as a good alternative to fish-and-chips or quick kebabs. Besides that, York has many shops so when you feel like it, you can always buy some sandwiches and sit down in one of the many parks (when the weather allows you to).
