Richmond, [Yorks] Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeRichmond, Yorkshire [be careful to distinguish it from
RichmondSurrey] is a lovely historic town in Swaledale, one of the most fascinating of the
Yorkshire Dales
Its history goes back a long way and among its places of interest are a functional Georgian theatre, the castle which was commenced by William Rufus in 1071 and Easby Abbey, a short walk along the river, founded in 1152.
There is also a fascinating cobbled market square where an open market is held on Saturdays as well as the closed market.
