Norwich is filled with all kinds of historic buildings that are open to the public to visit. If you are interested in history some places offer tours of the building or landmark for a deeper look into the history of the place. One of the landmarks that is a must for any visit is the Norwich Cathedral. The Cathedral was built in the 11th century and is a large beautiful building that dominates the skyline of Norwich. Near the Cathedral is the Cow tower which is a military tower that was built in the 1500's. The Norwich Castle is another great sight. This is one with a museum and tour that might interest history buffs. Other interesting places to visit in Norwich is Elm Hill, Guildhall, Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall to name a few. A lot of these places have gardens and parks attached to them for nature walks and views of beautiful landscaping.
Museums
Because of the extensive history in Norwich you will always find some great museums to visit in Norwich. A lot of the above historic landmarks have been turned into museums but for a more traditional museum you may want to check out Tolhouse Museum. This museum has exhibits that give a look into Norwich's local history. One exhibit is a recreated dungeon. Other museums in the area are Sainbury Centre for Visual Arts, Inspire Discovery Centre and Bridewall Museum.
Hotels and Restaurants
Restaurants in the area are pretty extensive. There are fine dining options along with pubs and prices that all around seem to be very reasonable. Hotels in the area are also very reasonable. You can get a nice room for under $100 a night depending on the season you go and as with all things you pay for what you get.
Other
Norwich has other interesting things to do. Nightlife is abundant with a lot of pubs, bars and clubs all around and there are many shopping centers that have both modern and old charming shops.
