In recent years the town has suffered a down-fall in good shopping, which is to get worse with the soon completion of an Asda supermarket. Although Austins department store which has been part of the the town since 1923 has plenty to offer as does Chapels, selling a wide range of traditional kitchenalia. Phoenix sound is definatly worth a look, it is the only music store left in the town and as well as recent albums, sells second hand CD's and vinyl.
