Nikolaev is an industrial city that is well know for ship building. In Nikolaev, things to do include museums, zoos, yachting, parks and swimming. The city is located between two rivers called the South Bug and the Ingul.

Nikolaev Zoo

A visit to the zoo is a fun outing for the whole family. It also offers an educational experience for children. The zoo in Nikolaev is the largest zoo in Ukraine. It was founded in 1901 by Leontovich and it one of the oldest zoos in Ukraine. The zoo boasts 350 different species of animals and it is home to approximately 2500 animals.

Theater of Ukranian Drama and Musical Comedy

The theater was founded in 1959. The theater reflects Nikolaev's reputation of being Ukraine's city of culture and education. Visit the theater to be entertained by riveting performances.

There are two swimming pools in the city called "Zarya" and "Vodoley". Enjoy a refreshing swim at the pools or do some laps to get a good work out. The pools are equipped with modern conveniences and offer extra activities.

This children's playground is located in the center of Nikolaev. The playground has a good atmosphere, and is a place for children to have fun and make new friends. Attractions include a locomotive and a ship. There is also a magical castle where children can play. The laughter room is equipped with false mirrors to keep your children entertained.
