Eating Out

A great place to eat out when on a budget in Kyiv is "Akademia" or, in Ukrainian: Академiя. It can be found on the the blue line of the metro at Kontraktova Ploscha/контрактова площа. Go directly onto Kontraktova Ploscha (square) and you will see Akademia located on the southwest corner of the square.

It's traditional Ukrainian food and great desserts at a very, very low price. No knowledge of the language is necessary, as you merely point at the food in a cafeteria-style line. It's a great atmosphere, a popular place for students and conveniently located at the bottom of Andreyivskiy Spusk (also not far from the Dutch Embassy).
