St. Moritz, Switzerland is one of the best known holiday resorts in the world. The sun shines 322 days a year, and the high elevation attracts some of the most famous visitors. St. Moritz is probably best known as a ski destination, but here is a list of the Top 5 Must Do's while visiting St. Mortiz year-round.

1. Winter activities

The snow capped peaks and powdery snow make the perfect winter playground for any winter sports enthusiast. St. Moritz offers over 215 miles of ski runs, trails for all levels of experience. Ski over a glacier, turn some tricks in the snowboard park, cross country trails in the unspoiled white wilderness, winter hiking through the snow-covered landscape, tobogganing down Muottas Muragi - whatever winter activity your heart desires, more than likely St. Moritz offers it.

2.  Swiss National Park

Located in the far eastern corner of Switzerland, this untouched terrain is the first national park in Central Europe. There has been no hunting, fishing, or any kind of exploitation in this national reserve since 1914, when it was first declared a national park. The Swiss National Park houses a fantastic collection of plants and animals in the rugged, natural habitat of the Alps. Whether visiting in the summer or winter, the 105 square mile National Park is waiting to host your exploration. There are a couple of lodges if you wish to seek accommodation within the park. 3. Raetisches Museum

This is s a quaint little museum that thoroughly explains the history of Switzerland. Chur, being the oldest city in Switzerland, dates back more than 4000 years ago. The museum is a 5 story, 1675 mansion, stocked full of the nation's history. The first floor begins with the earliest settlers and takes you on a journey back in time until you reach the 5th floor, the 20th Century. The museum's collection includes old furnishings, and goods from earlier periods, as well as archaeological finds from the region, both Roman and prehistoric. 

4. Schloss Tarasp

The village is perched 500 feet above, and is the beloved Castle Drachenhausen from the children's classic "Otto of the Silver Hand". Dating back to the 11th Century, this beautiful castle was built by the leading family of Tarasp. In the early 1800's, Napoleon gave Tarasp to the canton Graubunden, the Swiss Federation. You must take a tour to see the interior walls of the castle, which range from the Romanesque chapel to the modern reception rooms. Special midnight tours are available during a full moon.

5. St. Moritz Bad 

Here the local mineral springs have been known for more than 3000 years, and have been praised for their richness of iron and carbonic acid. Massages and other treatments are available here in individual cabins, and Peat baths need a doctor's prescription. Mineral baths are offered anytime, and highly recommended. St. Moritz Bad is the perfect spot for relaxation after a hard day on the slopes.
