For everybody knows that Swizzerland is expensive, the Swiss winter resorts are even more, especially on the accommodation front. Same counts for Grindelwald. The hundreds of nice and cosy "Chalets", dotted everywhere in and around the village are surely the most popbnbnvbnvbnnnnnnnnnnnular (and in my opinion the most effordable) way to stay. But even then you have to pay about 80 Swiss Francs for a night with 2 and about 120 for a night with 4 persons. Compared with a hotel room this is still cheap, for it is nearly impossible to spend a night for less than 140 Francs a double room. Hotel accommodation in Grindelwald is normally very good, service is friendly and the stuff helps you with all questions concerning touristic offers, excursions or sporting facilities. Many of the chalets have beautiful views and a calmer atmosphere, but sometimes they are far off the village - consider this when choosing a location.
