Basel Carnival

The other way to celebrate it – not like in Germany, where the Rhenish cities stop drinking and amusing on Ash Wednesday. In Basel, the “Fasnacht” starts, when the rest is already fasting, at 4am in the morning the Monday after Ash wednesday. It is a real experience and worth to stand up early.
