It is easier than expected to find a nice and rather cheap place to sleep in this otherwise very expensive country. In Stockholm you will find without a big hassle private rooms and nice bed and breakfast places, as well as cosy hotels and first class accommodation. But do not turn up late in summer expecting to get a cheap bed. Booking your first night's accommodation in advance is a better idea. On the lower level of Central Station there is a Hotellcentraalen , a booking service, which charges a fee of 40kr per room and 15kr for a youth hostel. For private rooms, contact Hotelltjänst , Vasagatan 15-17, Tel. 08 - 10 44 67, who can fix you up with a double room for around 225kr per person.
