Ostindiefararen Götheborg

Edit This

At the Terra Nova shipyard The Swedish East India Company AB is currently building the East Indiaman "Götheborg", a magnificent 18th century-style ship, out of oak and pine. She will be an exact replica of the historical ship "Götheborg".

The original Göteborg sank in 1745 outside Göteborg harbour when arriving from China. Fabrics and tea were recovered from the holds and sold. These sales went so well, that the voyage actually made a profit, despite the ship being lost! The ship then was more or less forgotten until 1986, after which she was recovered an is now more..
