Getting Around in Alicante
Edit ThisOnce you´ve flown into Alicante Airport there is a variety of transport options available to you. As the 6th busiest airport in Spain, it serves destinations such as Alicante itself, Benidorm, Denia, Calpe, Torrevieja and all points along the Costa Blanca.
If you intend to do a lot of sightseeing, hiring a car is probably the easiest and most cost-effective choice. There are several car hire companies based around Alicante Airport but only 9 within the terminal itself. By shopping around it is possible to find a very good deal with some offering fully comprehensive insurance and road side assistance inclusive in the price.
While there is no train from the airport itself, they do run from the city centre and buses leave roughly every 40 minutes to take you there. If you´re staying at one of the main resorts or hotel a shuttle bus is provided. Otherwise taxis are available from just outside the terminal. You could also organise an airport transfer in advance which can work out cheaper and is especially helpful when travelling as a group.
