Glorieta de España.

The Cathedral

This is dedicated to Santa María. It is the monument which most represents Murcia and is surprising because of its originality and decorative richness. The main facade, which was built between 1736 and 1754, looks onto the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga. In this outstanding example of baroque stonemasonry, where architecture and sculpture are perfectly combined, the work resembles a huge altarpiece and among its columns, arches and niches many saints appear.
