Museo Salzillo
Edit ThisThe name of Francisco Salzillo is indisputably linked to Murcia. Although his father Nicolás was originally from Naples Franciso was born in the region in 1707 and died in 1738. At the time of his death he had carved around 1,800 wooden images in the baroque style, all notable for their expressiveness and wonderful use of vibrant colour. Examples of the sculptor's work are on display in the Museum and during Holy Week at Easter many form part of the religious processions. Also on display in the Museum is a fabulous crib made up of some 500 figures. The Museum is located at Calle more..
