PortAventura
PortAventura is a theme park located 1 mile from Salou. It is rated Europe's best theme park. You will need to spend a few days at this theme park to take advantage of all that it has to offer. It has many rides that will get your adrenaline pumping such as Dragon Khan which is a roller coaster ride. There are also rides suitable for young children and play areas. Universal Studios characters walk around the theme park to entertain children.
PortAventura Aquatic Park
The water park offers respite from the heat. Don't forget to bring your costume so that you can go swimming. The water park is located at the theme park but it has a separate admission fee.
Nightlife
Salou is well known for its vibrant nightlife and a night out is a must do when visiting Salou. For families there are elegant restaurants which offer delicious Spanish cuisine. Fish is one of the specialties. International cuisine is also available. For visitors looking for a party, there is an abundance of bars and pubs. The bars play both Spanish music and international music. Visitors can enjoy nightclubs where they can dance the night away including the famous Pacha. July and August are the months when the nightlife is at its busiest.
Beach
Playa Levante is the main beach and along this beach stretches a promenade. The golden sandy beach is 1.2 km long. Playa Leyante is frequented by tourists and therefore the facilities at this beach have been well developed. There is a good atmosphere at this beach as all the tourists gather to enjoy their day in the sun. Water sports are available at Playa Levante. Playa de Capellans is another beautiful beach that is lined with cliffs and trees. Playa Poniente has less visitors and is ideal for those looking to relax and escape the crowds.
Illuminosa Fountain
This majestic fountain is situated at the end of the seaside promenade. At night the fountain is illuminated by a light show and music fills the air. It is the perfect end to a evenings walk. As of April 2011 the fountain has been updated to include a new show
