Salou offers several festivals throughout the year. Here is a comprehensive list. Some of the dates are not fixed, but festivals are usually held on the same week within the month.
January
The Wise Men's Cavalcade
February
Festa Major d'hivern (Winter festival) is held on the first 2 weeks in February. There are house parties, dance groups, sports, parades and performances.
April
Easter week and St. George's Day
May
On Sundays, you can attend the Spring Theater Cycle Lace Makers Meeting
June
Three festival take place in June: the Festival for Children, the Spring Festival and St John's Eve (summer solstice)
July
Basque National Day offers traditional dances and fishermen songs. Salou also presents a major Fashion Show. The Golden Nights Summer Festival begins on July 20 and lasts until August 15.
August
There are several things happening in August. The Golden Nights Summer festival continues until August 15. You can also attend the Cap Salou Fiestas, the Mirador de Salou summer fiestas and the Barenys-Ponent beach neighborhood fiesta.
September
There are 4 festivals taking place in September: the King Jaume Festival, the Xalets de Salou Neighborhood Fiestas, the Catalan National Day and the anniversary of the death of Father Muntanyola.
October
You can attend the Festival of Pilar or the Musical October performances on the Jaume I Promenade. You can also take part in the celebrations for the Salou Independence Day.
November
Four festivals take place in November in Salou: The Salou Squid Festival (gastronomy), the Santa Cecilia Festival, the Saint Martin Day Gathering (dance and music) and the Vila de Salou Music Competition.
December
You can cheer the dancers entered in the Spanish Professional Ballroom Dancing Tournament, visit the living nativity scene at the Catalan Farmhouse or attend a performance of the Christmas Choir Concert. There are several New Year's Eve parties throughout town.
