Cruises in Salou
Edit ThisTake a Short Cruise to the City of Barcelona
Since the Salou harbor is relatively small, it doesn’t offer long-distance Salou Cruises. However, you can take a short cruise to the nearby city of Barcelona. Although the distance is small (less than 90 km) and can be easily traveled by road, it is much more exciting to reach Barcelona on a ship sailing through the waters of the Mediterranean. Here is what you can see in both cities during your cruise.
Salou
Salou is mainly a seaside resort and a popular tourist destination. It has some fine beaches, excellent for swimming and sunbathing. The only historical sight is the Torre Vella, which is a defense tower that was built in 1530. Another place of interest is Port Aventura, a theme park, which has several excellent roller coasters and water rides. Make sure to check these places out prior to leaving Salou.
Barcelona
Arriving at the Barcelona harbor, you will definitely be impressed by its huge size, since it is the ninth biggest harbor in whole Europe. Barcelona itself is the second largest city in Spain and offers many interesting sights, both modern and historical. You should definitely visit the impressive Gothic cathedral Santa Eulalia, the Sagrada Familia church and the Castell dels tres Dracs (a marvelous modernist castle built in 1888). In general, the whole old city part of Barcelona is full of amazing buildings and monuments. Take your time and explore it by foot to take the maximum of your stay at Barcelona.
