Budget Travel Ideas in Salou

Edit This

Salou is a beautiful seaside resort located in Spain, and it enjoys the distinct reputation of being one of the biggest tourist attractions in Europe. The crystal blue waters and sandy shores, coupled with the presence of one of the biggest theme parks makes Salou truly irresistible to visitors. Fortunately, you don't need to spend big money to enjoy this scenic place, as most sightseeing and activities can be done on a budget. The Salou budget travel guide lists some ideas for visitors to discover the beauty of this natural haven without spending a fortune.

Enjoy The Fountains

A short stroll along the lovely boulevard should get you to the fountains. The fountains are lit up with magnificent lights and there is plenty of music around as well. This can be a great way to spend an evening with your family and loved ones, especially if you are the kind who likes to sit at one place and enjoy the vista.

The Theme Park

One of the biggest attractions of Salou happens to be the theme park called Port Aventura. The place has enjoyable rides for kids and adults alike, as well as plenty of live shows. Since the destination has a lot to offer, it is best if you plan out the day in advance and set aside time for the theme park. There are discounted rates for senior citizens and disabled persons. You can easily pass an entire week in the theme park while staying at one of the hotels nearby.

Promenade

The promenade is a fabulous stretch of sea front and leads on to beautiful sandy beaches ahead. There are plenty of seating arrangements along the way so you can rest a bit while walking. Dotted with fountains and palm trees, this is a tranquil place meant for pure relaxation. During weekends, the promenade has laser shows of water and music and the view can be quite spectacular.

Cap Salou

Cap Salou is located in the northern part of Salou and is easily accessible by bus. The place is dotted with many nice beaches that are great options for a day out. There is another lively and cosmopolitan area here, called ‘The Curve’, which has several restaurants, pubs and a nice club. You should definitely have dinner at a nice little place called Paddock, which incidentally happens to be one of the best restaurants in Salou. A dainty little shop called Nuria offers visitors a wide range of souvenirs, sans hefty touristy prices.

Budget Eat Outs

Traveling on a budget doesn’t mean you need to compromise on eating out. Salou boasts of some amazing restaurants such as the Can Blas, which is a nice family-owned spot that provides excellent service. The Rio Grande Chile is a spectacular restaurant to sample authentic Mexican fare, while Texas Embassy offers nice eclectic cuisine at reasonable prices.

With fabulous beaches, plenty of sightseeing and budget eateries, Salou should definitely figure on your budget travel destination’s list.
