Gothic Quarter
Edit ThisThe Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter) is the centre of the old city of Barcelona. Many of the buildings date from Medieval times, some from as far back as the Roman settlement of Barcelona. Remains of the squared Roman Wall can be seen around Tapineria and Sots-Tinent Navarro to the north, Avinguda de la Catedral and Plaça Nova to the west and Carrer de la Palla to the south.

Barcelona Area
Edit ThisCity is full of tourists. Try to speak Spanish or Catalan at the first begging and then ask to speak in English. Even that Barcelona is the Spanish cities where the English is more common in the street does not mean that everybody would udnertand a minimum.
Spanish people do not need English even at the job, so do not try to make them speak English or French.
Spanish people do not use to say thanks and it is not such polite as Northern Europe countries, so do not be picky if you do not receive this kind of compliments.
The most dangerous area in the city more..

Language & Nationalism
Edit ThisCatalan is the language spoken in Barcelona and in Catalonia (as well as in Andorra, Mallorca and southern France). If you speak Spanish to somebody who is a Catalan independentist or nationalist, they might not even reply to you! - NEVER wear any bulls, Spanish flags or other Spanish patriotic symbols while in Barcelona and Catalunya. It is considered offensive to locals.

karlijn jansen
Edit ThisBarcelona can be pretty expensive for tourists, so when you go there I can give you a good tip: buy a discount card; it saves you a lot of money! I bought one, named the Go and Connect discount card, which was only 12 euros. With this card I was able to go out for almost nothing. I got discounts in a lot of shops, restaurants, clubs, transport rentals and more!
If you are interested you can check out their site: http://www.goandconnect.com/en/Discounts/ I think it is a must in an expensive but amazing city like more..| type: | Tourist information |
