Barcelona's airport is only about 20 minutes from the heart of the city and is served by a rail line that ends at the airport. Tickets are very inexpensive. Trains leave about every half hour throughout the day, from 6:13 a.m. to 11:40 p.m. The Placa de Catalunya station is at the upper end of the famous Ramblas.

Being such a popular destination in Europe for tourists, Barcelona is one of the easiest cities to travel to using budget airlines.

Barcelona El Prat Airport (code BCN) is a hub for many low cost airlines including Vueling, Condor, Air Berlin and relative new-comer Clickair.

If you are having trouble finding good prices to fly to Barcelona El Prat, you can also check nearby airports Reus (REU) and Girona (GRO). Don't forget to check full service airlines such as BA, BMI and Spanair who often offer special pricings which can often beat the budget carriers.
