Trail to St. Agueda's Castell

Perfect walking trail for an autum morning.

You can get here following Ciutadella – Mahon main road until “Ets Alocs” sign, here’s where you take the turn-off to find the bypath to this old castle. You should scour the road for a farmstead called “Santa Cecilia”, leave the car in the driveway of the farm, beacuse here’s where the ancient Roman footpath starts.

The hour-long and rising hike to the top takes you to one of Menorca’s highest hills, so it’s well worth the effort until the wrecked moorish fort, where you can leave your imagination soar and enjoy the stunning views.

The route towards Punta Nati, it’s perfect for cylcing because it’s mostly flat and also, allows you to discover the island's northeast lighthouse, known as Farola Nova. A vast barren zone surrounded by huge stone sheep-pens, explains why Menorca is called an island of stones and wind. Here, you will be able to feel the force of the strong Tramontana wind, while you enjoy the uncluttered sunset or, even better, get a coat –it doesn’t matter if its summer- and follow the road to Punta Nati at night, along with red wine and your favorite food, to appreciate a clear sky more..
