Palma de Mallorca is part of the Baleric islands in Spain. Cuisines here range from all kinds of different flavors. There are influences from many other nationalities and cultures including French, English, Arab, Greek, Phoenician and Roman. In this area, soups with noodles, meat or fish and vegetables are popular. Here are some of the best options for eating out in Mallorca.

Expensive Restaurants

There are a few restaurants in the area that specialize in fine dining. The prices here are rather more expensive than average, but are usually well worth the price. One such place is called Forn de Sant Joan. This restaurant is in an old bakery and has been remodeled into a fantastic restaurant. The atmosphere is elegant and modern with a bar and several dining areas. There are four floors to meet your seating needs and the menu is lengthy and diverse. They serve mostly local cuisine but there are a few interesting alternatives. There is an extensive tapas selection along with main dishes that include things like foie gras and grilled prawns. Main dishes are mostly pastas and fish or meat dishes. Prices here are pretty pricey but reviews on this place all say if you’re going to spend a lot of money on a meal this is the place to do it.

Moderately Priced Restaurants

The average priced restaurant around here offers main dishes at around $20 to $30. Most of these serve local foods and your best bet is to find a good Tapas place and order to share. One tapas restaurant is Taberna de la Boveda which prices are around $20 depending on what you get.

Other places to try are Mel d’abella and S’Espanja.

Budget Restaurants

Eating on a budget is not an impossible task here. There are restaurants in the area that offer good cheap eats. You might be able to find some street food or chains that can afford to have lower prices. One place is Cellar Sa Premsa which served dishes for around $10 a person. They have great service and good local food.

Other good places for budget dining are + NTLR and Piccola Italia.
