Day Trips in Malaga

Edit This

During your trip to Spain, you may want to spend some time in The Costa Del Sol. Veteran travelers agree that the city of Malaga (the capital of The Costa Del Sol) is an excellent starting point for a good number of fantastic day trips throughout the scenic Costa Del Sol and beyond. Nearby towns (all less than 100 miles away and some are even under 30 miles away) include Almeria, Ronda, Antequera, Granada, and Adra.

Malaga is also located in close proximity to and a number of spectacular beach resorts. Marbella, Torremolinos, and Fuengirola are the considered the most popular beach resorts in the area. Visitors to Malaga can even take a day trip to Cordoba (109 miles away) or Madrid during their Spain vacation thanks to the AVE -- Europe's high-speed train ( www.raileurope.com). A train ride from Malaga to Madrid is roughly 2-1/2 hours, so if you take the first train out, usually around 6:30 a.m., you can begin a full day of exploration in Madrid by 8:30 a.m. and return back to Malaga in time for a late dinner. If you purchase your tickets online you can save 10% off the regular price.

It's two major beaches La Carihuela and El Bajondillo are usually packed to capacity during the summer months, but the scenery offers plenty of eye candy and people watching for your viewing pleasure. Besides the beaches, major Torremolinos points of interest include: Nogalera Plaza, Plaza Costa del Sol, The Pueblo Blanco area, and the Cuesta del Tajo -- all located in the bustling Central more..
