Bars and Cafes in Malaga
Edit ThisDue to its long tradition of being a tourist spot, Malaga has a thriving nightlife all the year round and Malaga Bars and Cafes offer a real diversity of pleasures.
Rincon de Mata
For cheap but superb tapas, check out this tucked away little bar-restaurant. Among the dishes served are Spanish favorites, such as braod beans with ham, snails and piquant freshly-cooked prawns. You can wash this all down with cold, inexpensive beer.
Taperia Siglo XXI
Located in the Plaza de la Merced where the great Picasso was born, this other tapas option is more traditional and old-fashioned in its vibe. Ask for the Serrano ham and delicious local cheeses and you won't be disappointed.
Cafe con Libros
This coffee house is situated in Calle Granada and tends to be the pick of Malaga bars and cafes for students and young people. You can also sit round and play a good game of backgammon.
Bar Logueno
If you want a taste of the real Malaga then go to this real locals' venue which serves high quality food at good prices. Of the 75 different tapas dishes available, the deep fried peppers and mushrooms are stand-outs. Warning: this place can get busy so make sure that you come early. You'll find Bar Logueno in Calle Garcia.
Gibralfaro Bar
In the Pasaje de Chinitas district, this bohemian-oriented spot is really one of the best Malaga bars and cafes. You can kick back and enjoy the live flamenco music while chowing down on some great tapas - which incidentally is not as extensive as some other places. The atmosphere, however, is great.
