Edit ThisNis was wery known in the Roman era,as Naisus, with it's luxurious suburb Mediana, where some Roman emperors, like Constantin The Great, bult their vilas and summer housses.
Constantin was born here in 274 A.C. and he was recognized, by both Catolic and Ortodox Churches as a Saint, along with his mother Helena.
The Skull Tower
Edit ThisThe Skull Tower is a unique world monument. It is a tower built of the skulls of Serbian rebels for freedom. The Turks built this monument after Čegar battle.

Nis Concentration Camp
Edit ThisCrveni krst was a concentration camp located in the Serbian city of Niš, and operated by the Nazi Germans during the Second World War.
It is estimated that around 30,000 persons went through this camp, and an estimated 12,000 persons where executed on the location of Bubanj. Many of the other inmates were transferred to other camps like Sajmište concentration camp or other camps around Europe.
