Festivals in Timisoara

Every year in April, for the past 17 years, in Timisoara takes place one of the most popular youth festivals, Student Fest. During a week participants from all over the country and abroad meet, discuss, create and have fun together- free entrance
"Timisoara- Mica Viena" (Timisoara- The Little Vienna): organized by the Timisoara City Hall (www.primariatm.ro, in Unirii Square, every year from May to September, it has the purpose to encourage young artists. Therefore, almost every weekend (depending on the weather) you can enjoy concerts and multicultural events made especially by young local artists. The project may  expand also in the Traian Square in the near future. - free entrance
In the autumn, where the grapes are transformed into wine, people from Timisoara celebrate this tradition. Wine Festival is a popular way of entertainment. For a few days, a big crowd enjoys having both fresh and old wines along with traditional cuisine, listening to music (that ranges from folk music to the modern genres) and socializing.
Beer Festival takes places in the summer and its very similar to the Wine Festival.- free entrance also
Plai Festival (12-14 september)- www.plai.ro- its definition is "music, art, interculturality" and it reunites, since 2006, world famous artists with less-known but very talented people who can promote diversity and tolerance. It is brought by a young and energetic organization, A.C.S.A.T. ,  in the location of Village Museum of Banat, an open-air location. You must purchase tickets, for one night or for all three.
International Romani Art Festival- Misto -brought by IRAF ngo, usually in August (this year: 6-10 aug. '08). An open-air festival that promotes ethnical diversity with dozens of Rroma artists and guests, concerts and workshops, fashion and food etc. You can purchase tickets for one day or for the entire period(www.iraf.ro). Free entrance for parents and children.
