One of the quaint alleys of the fortified medieval town. On the right is the house where Vlad Dracul the Impaler is said to have spent a few years of his childhood. The atmosphere is tranquil.

The well known medieval clock tower of Sighisoara/Schaessburg/Szegesvar. The tower functioned as a council and town hall. It is one of the gate towers and today it houses a museum. Transylvania was one of the first regions of Europe, to benefit of the invention of the mechanical clock. Vladislaus Dracul III the Impaler (aka Vlad Dracul, inspired the character of Dracula), spent some of his early years here.
