Buzau Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeBuzau is the main city in Buzau County, and it is located in the
Romanian Field, at about 130 km north-north-east from Bucharest, near
the river also named Buzau. It is a very old city, mentioned in
centuries old documents, and its population is approaching now 200.000.
Although, most of the actual city is modern and there are very few old
buildings left in town. The main green area is the Cring forest, on the
South side of the city, and here is a fine place for walking and
amusement. There is a little lake here where you can rent boats by the
hour, and a little island with a bistro under the trees, for
refreshments.
There is a great little shop run by Aurel Moroianu at the railway station go there for a friendly welcome.
The orthodox church near the main plaza is very nice also with plenty of icons and interesting artisan's work.
To the left of the Palatul Comunal there are reminders of the trauma of the revolution, these are multiple bullet holes on the walls of the building.
