Póvoa de Varzim still has plenty of traditional shopping areas.

the main pedestrian shopping street is Rua da Junqueira in the city centre. In the fishermen quarter there's another pedestrian shopping street, the Rua 31 de Janeiro. Avenida Mousinho de Albuquerque is also a good option in the city centre.

Hypermarkets are located east of the city and to visit any you should use the Avenida 25 de Abril avenue. Modelo and Maxmat are located just near the motorway intersection, in the entrance of Avenida 25 de Abril, while the biggest hypermarket of the city (Feira Nova) is located south of the city, just a couple of minutes away.
