Tram

Porto was the first city in the Iberian Peninsula to have a tram network, back in the 19th century. The tram, once the best way to travel in the city, was (almost) completely replaced by the bus in the 70's and 80's. With the urban renovation following 2001 (still going on in much of the city), the municipality is setting new tracks in the centre, hoping to have the old trams back soon.

Do not miss a trip on the tram # 18, running from Praça do Infante, along the river, to the seafront and pay a visit to the interesting Tram Museum on the way.
