7 Day Itinerary in Lisbon

Day 1 – Visit Mosteiro dos Jerónimos
Visiting Mosteiro dos Jerónimos on the first day is a good idea. Mosteiro dos Jerónimos is a monastery built in honor of the Virgin Mary. It has a Renaissance architectural style with a Gothic touch. The monastery also includes sculptures and tombs of kings and other popular people of Lisbon.
Day 2 – A Day at the Garden
Spend a day with your family at Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcantara. This is a stunning panoramic garden situated in central Lisbon, just across St George’s Castle. The garden features busts of Greco-Roman gods and goddesses, as well as a map made of tiles.
Day 3 – Visit the Aquarium
Visiting the aquarium while in Lisbon is a good idea. The Oceanario de Lisboa is a world-class aquarium located in Esplanada d. Carlos I. This is the second largest aquarium in the world. It showcases diverse marine ecosystems similar to those of the Pacific, the Arctic, the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean.
Day 4 – A Day at the Museum
The Museu da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian has one of the world’s finest art collections. This used to be a privately owned museum of Armenian oil tycoon Calouste Gulbenkian. It showcases great European artworks such as medieval illuminated manuscripts and ivories, portraits of Alexander the Great, Helène Fourment and Madame Claude Monet, among many others.
Day 5 - Torre de Belém
The Torre de Belem (tower) serves as the monument to Portugal’s Age of Discovery. This classic landmark in Lisbon was constructed from 1515 to 1520. The facade of Torre de Belém has rich Renaissance features with a few Gothic traces. The tower was built with a particular type of limestone called “Lioz” which is found in Lisbon.
Day 6 - Castelo de São Jorge
Castelo de São Jorge, or St. George’s Castle, is the most popular landmark in Lisbon. The castle is situated on the highest hill in the center of the city and provides a magnificent view of the city below. You will be transported back in time as you take a tour of this castle.
Day 7 – A Day at the Garden
The Jardim Zoológico de Lisboa is a famous garden and zoo that houses more than 2,000 animals as well as an extensive collection of flora and fauna exclusively found in Lisbon. The garden/zoo is located in Estada de Benfica.
