accommodation in Lagos

Edit This
A resort town that manages to be lively without being as loud and lairy as many popular holiday destinations, Lagos offers a wealth of options in every price bracket and to suit every taste. From chic boutique hotels for romantic couples, to spacious apartments for families and groups of friends, Lagos has no shortage of accommodations to offer. For those who want to combine the space and privacy of an apartment with the convenience of a hotel, there are plenty of 'apart-hotels' with self-catering facilities and hotel services.

Family Friendly

Families are spoiled for choice when it comes to hotels in Lagos. The city is awash with modern complexes designed to meet the needs of families, and many of the larger resorts feature children's pools and play areas, are happy to provide cots and high chairs, and can arrange babysitting services.

One good family-friendly option is Monte Dourado at Praia do Carvoeiro Apartado 208, Lagos 8400, which offers spacious apartments and a wealth of good in-room and shared facilities.

Budget Friendly

There are plenty of options in Lagos for holidaymakers on a budget. For those who like the great outdoors, there are a couple of well-equipped campsites in the area that can make for a great value holiday. Residenciaes  - family-run, often quite basic, B&B's are other good options for budget travelers who don't mind keeping things simple. One good bet is the centrally-located Residencial Lagosmar, at Rua Dr Faria E Silva 13 , Lagos. With a good location in the old town, easy beach access and a good breakfast, this is a decent few-frills option for less than US$50 per night.

Lagos is popular with a young, party crowd that is well-served by the abundant youth hostels to be found here. With dorm beds often costing under US$20, and a lively atmosphere, the youth hostel scene is good for young budget travelers. One of the most popular options is the attractive Hostel Sousa, which has both dorm beds and private rooms and is within a few minutes' walk of the beach and the center of Lagos at Rua Jogo da Bola 17.

Romantic Breaks

With its warm climate and beautiful sand beaches washed by the waters of the Mediterranean, it's not hard to see why Lagos is a top desitnation among honeymooners and couples looking for a romantic getaway. The Romantik Hotel Vivenda Miranda, a four-star cliff-top hotel housed in a former mansion home, is a perfectly romantic spot (as the name suggests), and with excellent facilties, a great restaurant and fantastic beach views, there's no need to stray too far from your hotel room!
