Lousa is a small town reached by train from Coimbra Parque through delightful countryside.
Although the town is pleasant, the main appeal, for which you get off at Lousa A (reached first) rather than Lousa, is a walk to the castle. There is no public admission but the views on the edge of the Serra de Lousa are stupendous.
