It promotes its origin the very remote times, certainly daily pay-Romans perhaps, as they prove some dispersed indications for the place, having this population, appeared to the side or under the jurisdiction of already related Alpreada, that today does not appear with this name, in reason of since 1205, to have started to call New Castle, bordering clientele of Alpedrinha. This population was not, as it is indicated in the academic publication of the clientele, bearer of the charter data the Alpreada in 1202, but at least of its forums it must have entirely participated, until proper administration reached. It is judged that Alpedrinha was raised the village in 1675; but certainly that already very before it benefited of proper municipalism, therefore it is known that in 1641 it requested the grace of, to leave of that date in ahead, to start to have representative in the Cuts of Lisbon, similar pretension to the great majority of the villages of the time. In the following century, municipality of Alpedrinha was extended with the ones of New Castle and Atalaia of the Field, to be extinct in 24 of October of 1855.
