Hotels
You will like that there are several hotels with provisions that cater to those who are in their senior years. You have the opportunity to select from a hotel right on the beachfront or a little farther away from the high density of travelers. In close proximity to the water you will find the Hotel Garbe. Rated as a four star hotel it has all the amenities you require to have the time of your life here. When registering with them just tell them what you have in mind and they will see that everything is arranged properly. Another four star hotel with a good reputation is the Vila Gale Nautico. They have nice service staff that will make you feel welcome. What this hotel also offers are special attractions for the more mature person such as an indoor pool, steam room, and a health spa. Quinta de Figueirinhas could be another wise choice. They have an exceptional reputation in the community for their professional and friendly service especially toward older patrons. They are rated as a four star hotel with accessible amenities to all areas of the building. This hotel is about 5 minutes away by driving and could be just what you are looking for if you want to be in a less active spot. A mini bus leaves the complex several times a day to the inner city.
Activities
Most of the activities you will find in the city proper revolve around water sports. In the summer it does get a little crowded but for the rest of the year it is quite serene. Shops are to be found up and down all of the venues selling big name merchandise and some local items as well. A favorite activity for seniors is to walk along the beaches and just enjoy the sunlight on the water. If you like to have a drink in a local bar or restaurant there are plenty of them, although during the off-season there will be less businesses open. If you like golfing, a golf course is located just four kilometers away in the city of Amenoeira. The O’Conner and Faldo golf courses may well be considered the best and largest Europe has to offer. Another choice would be to take a real short trip to Vilamoura where the company Algarve Seafaris has full day or half day sea cave sight-seeing boating tours.
Weather and Medical
The weather of this luxurious vacationing spot is reasonable all year round. The spring averages 19℃ in temperature. During the summer it gets rather hot going up to 25℃ but the cool breezes keep it more than bearable. In the winter temperatures drop to 16℃ with a measure.
