Getting There in Armacao de Pera
Edit ThisA small village in Portugal, Armacao de Pera, Getting There is quite easy because it is a booming beach area. Here are a couple of tips on how to get to Armacao de Pera.
Getting There by Plane
Armacao de Pera does not have its own local or international airport, however there are several airports within reasonable driving distance. The closest airport is the Faro Airport (IATA airport code: FAO) located in the city with the same name. The Faro Airport is located about 40 kilometers (25 miles) from downtown Armacao de Pera. Both Ryanair and GermanWings offer direct flights to and from Faro from several cities around Europe, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
This airport offers 8 different car rental agencies, both local and international. It is a good idea to apply for an international driver's license before leaving your country of origin. Having one in Portugal (and all of Europe) will make the care rental process faster and will give you access to some special offers and discounts.
The Lisbon Portela Airport, better known as Lisbon Airport (IATA airport code: LIS), is about 200 kilometers (125 miles) away from Armacao de Pera.
Even though you might find cheaper fares by arriving directly in
Lisbon, you should consider the fact that this airport is much farther
away from Armacao de Pera than the Faro Airport.
Driving from Other Cities
Driving to Armacao de Pera from nearby cities such as Silves, Alcantarilha and Pera is a great experience. Make sure to have your driver's license and proof of insurance at hand at all times.Contributors
