There are a few choices of transportation in this area of Portugal. Among these modes are travel by foot, taxi, bus and train.

Rental Cars

The most favorable way to get around for most people is the use of a rented vehicle, which many find to be reasonably priced. You can have the freedom to sight see and take your time in getting to your destination. There are no worries as to how much the meter is running up or the speed at which you pass incredible views, and let's not forget the bumping into one another on public transportation.

Trains

If you don’t mind sharing the ride you may want to experience the train system. There are several lines to choose from to get to where you want to go. They also offer a unique set-up with the waiting platform that is much higher than the streets and they are reasonably priced at approximately $6 U.S. for a round trip out of the city. It is said trains are spacious and a great adventure as you travel out of the city through many tunnels.

Taxis

A taxi can also be a very convenient way to travel. They are generally lined up waiting for you at the airports. They are also very easy to spot because they all are very similar in style and color. It is also a great way to get to the places you want to see without getting lost. No need to bother with a map, getting directions or the worrying about being lost.
