Day Trips in Armacao de Pera
Edit ThisThe central Algarve location of Armacao de Pera makes day trips easy
and accessible. Rent a car on your trip and really get a taste of all
the different diverse cities that the Algarve is home to by traveling
between them for these close day trips that won't break your wallet.
Albufeira Day Trip
Albufeira is located just one town over from Armacao de Pera and offers
much to do, including water parks and other family fun. Aqualand Algarve
is the area's best waterpark and perfect to break things up after a few
days at the beach. Albufeira's Zoomarine is a big draw as well,
offering the opportunity to swim with dolphins, explore numerous
underwater ecosystems, and watch some great water shows featuring
dolphins, sea lions and more.
Pera and Porches is also close to Armacao de Pera. Here visitors can
shop for a variety of cultural items such as crafts and pottery in the
city's expansive arts centers. This is a great day trip for shopping and
having a change of pace on your trip to Armacao.
Silves Day Trip
Silves, located to the north of Armacao, is a great cultural day trip,
featuring many historical landmarks of the Algarve. Visit Silves Castle
and other buildings here thought to be built in the early 8th century
for a unique walk through history. The Cathedral of Silves is located
just below the castle and is as equally impressive. Built in the 1200s,
the cathedral served as the most important church in the Algarve from
1242 to 1577. Explore the city's myriad of historical buildings in a
walking tour of the area and check out the Archaeological Museum for
even more history and education.
Additional Day Trips
If you love shopping in open markets, Loule, Alcantarhilla and Algoz are
all great to visit and within a close distance from Armacao de Pera.
While there, stop by the neighboring Guia directly to the east of
Armacao de Pera, sample the wines at Vida Nova and enjoy a educational
tour of the winery.
Armacao de Pera's central location makes it the perfect spot to explore
the Algarve from. Enjoy the city's conveniences and atmosphere, while
being in the center of all the action and close enough to travel between
several cities during a short stay here.
