Budget Travel Ideas in Armacao de Pera
Edit ThisOnce a sleepy fishing village, Armacao de
Pera budget travel is an option for visitors wishing to
explore the area's natural beauty. There are still plenty of fisherman
in the village, but also many high rise apartments and modern buildings
have begun to sprout up throughout the town. Much of this new
development is blended nicely with the old cobbled streets, allowing for
little bits of the old town to shine through just about everywhere you
visit.
Budget Activities in Armacao de Pera
The beaches are your best bet for saving money on your trip to Armacao
de Pera. If you love to explore secluded beaches, you are especially in
luck here. With miles of golden sand, the beaches here are lovely and
serene. Check out Praia da Gale where the beach resembles 2 half moons
of white sand for a truly relaxing day.
If you want to remain near bars and restaurants, you can, but if you
want to wander off, walking east on the beach will take you away from
any crowds. During the off season, it is easy to be on a secluded beach
in no time. If you are feeling adventurous and have a car, drive 10 to
15 minutes to the west to check out the string of coves there, some of
which are hidden smugglers' coves and are fantastic for an afternoon of
exploration.
As with many beach locations, much of the entertainment here is centered
around water sports and other beach activities. You may want to splurge
on a day of snorkeling or scuba diving after exploring the beaches to
see the area from another perspective, as the water sports here are
first class. If wildlife fascinates you, stop by the Ria Formosa lagoon,
a 17,000 hectares reserve that is home to a stunning array of migratory
birds.
Budget Accommodations in Armacao de Pera
One budget opportunity for travelers visiting Armacao de Pera is to camp
at the nearest campground - Parque de Campismo de Armacao de Pera. This
is a great modern camping facility and if you can't bring a tent, don't
worry, you can still save by staying in one of the campground's rented
bungalows here.
Many of the area's smaller 3- and 4-star hotels here are rather
inexpensive for such a beach holiday location, hovering in the $100 a
night range. Check out Pestana Levante and Vila Gale Nautico for
budget-priced lodging.
